Halloween parties are the perfect opportunity to get a little weird (at least in the drink department). With blood and brains, our featured cocktails will make your guests fall over dead...they're scary looking!
Bloody Brain Shooter
This shot is easy to prepare when guests start to arrive. Combine chilled vodka and lime juice in a sot glass. With a straw, drip Irish cream on top. The acidic lime juice will cause the cream to curdle giving the appearance of brains floating in your drink...EEEK!
Bloody Orange Cocktail
This scary and delicious cocktail will take some prep work, but the end result is amazingly scary and worth it! This recipe serves 4.
- 4 oz vodka
- 2 oz Licor43
- 8 oz Orangina or 1:3 orange juice to club soda
- 3 oz Rasberry syrup (recipe follows)
- 4 plastic syringes (available at party stores)
- orange for garnish
Rasberry syrup - Puree 2 cups rasberries in a food processor. Press the puree through a fine mesh strainer to extract the pulp then disregard the seeds. Place the puree in a small saucepan with 1/4 cup sugar. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring frequently until thick and dark (about ten minutes) and let cool. Fill each syringe with .75 oz of rasberry syrup, then set aside.
Drink - Add vodka and Licor43 to a shaker with ice, shake until very cold (about 20 seconds). Add Orangina and stir. Pour into iced glasses and place filled syringes in drinks.
