Slainte! A Look at Lucky Drinks

March 11, 2015

March is awesome! We get to fill out our brackets for March Madness and waste countless hours checking brackets and scores but more importantly, we get to celebrate St. Patrick's Day!

Dressing like a leprechaun, pinching friends (or strangers) for not wearing green, and shouting "Erin go bragh!" are just a few benefits of celebrating St. Patrick's Day which aren't acceptable nor polite on any other day. Let's get to the drinks!

We've got a couple of recipes to feature (see our past recipes, too) in addition to looking at a few Irish beers and whiskeys we carry at Bluegrass!

Jameson Ginger & Lime

1.5 oz Jameson Irish Whiskey
Good Quality bottled ginger ale
Large wedge of Lime

Fill highball glass with ice, pour a shot of Jameson, fill the glass with ginger ale. Stir briefly to mix.

Michael Collins Honeysuckle Cocktail

1.5 oz Michael Collins Blended Irish Whiskey
2 tsp Honey
1.25 oz Sauvignon Blanc Wine
1.5 oz Fresh apple juice
.25 oz Passion fruit syrup
.25 oz Fresh lemon juice
Garnish: Thin apple slice

Add all the ingredients to a shaker and fill with ice. Shake, and strain into a chilled cocktail or stemless wine glass. Garnish with a thin apple slice.
