St. Patricks Day is the perfect time to throw a party. Green is flattering on most everyone, and you get to speak in a cheesy Irish accent all night! So invite some great (or not so great) friends over and have “a whale of a time” drinking these Irish classics and impress your friends by giving a little history lesson too!
Jameson Whiskey Sour
The sour developed from adding lime juice to rum rations in the 1700s. Fresh fruit was perishable, so gin or rum was added to preserve the juice. It didn’t take long to figure out that citrus and spirits were a great combination and when enhanced by sugar, a timeless cocktail was created.
The Martini has a long standing history as an American “power drink”. It’s sophisticated and sexy (and don’t you feel that way when ordering one?). To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, add an Irish twist by making this classic with Baileys and vodka! Drink up! Go on, bring back the “Bailey’s” mustache one sip at a time!
2 oz Tequila
1 oz Sour Apple Pucker
¼ oz Melon Liqueur
1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
Lime Wheels for Garnish
No Irish shindig is complete until a green drink is served. The Lucky Tart is light and refreshing and the perfect “let’s toast to good friends and good laughs” drink. After all, if you can’t find real gold, might as well settle for Tequila!
