Jekyll Brewing Tastings

August 14, 2015

Tasting time at Bluegrass! This beer is so awesome that we're doing two tastings:

What: Jekyll Brewing

Dates: August 18th & August 28th

Time: 3-7 pm, same time for both days.

Jekyll hails from the great state of GA and specializes in hand-crafted beers. See a few we will be tasting:

Hop Dang Diggity: Our Hop Dang Diggity Southern IPA presents a full nose of Georgia pine while the malty backbone provides for a perfectly-balanced sweetness. Hopped up like a one legged chicken, this is not your standard IPA! Hop Dang Diggity’s citrus notes quench the palate and provide a refreshingly clean finish that begs for the next sip. ABV: 6.7%

'Merican Amber: When you’re craving more flavor, but not ready to get down with the Hop Dang Diggity, it’s your patriotic duty to get on ‘Merican Amber. She will bring you earthy notes and a caramel malt backbone. True to style, ‘Merican Amber Ale balances its Nugget hop bitterness with its flora aroma and spicy taste. ABV: 5.8%

Big Creek: Big Creek Kolsch is delicately balanced beer style originating from the Cologne region of Germany and brewed according to Reinheitsgebot. They used only barely, hops, water and yeast under cold temperatures to give the style a crisp, dry quality. The ale yeast, which is unusual for a beer that is fermented like a lager, contribute fruity and bread-like characteristics not normally found in lagers.

Cooter Brown: Cooter Brown was a family man who lived on the Mason-Dixon line during the Civil War. So that he would not have to fight for either side, he decided to stay inebriated for the entire war. To salute his peaceful manner, they named the brew in his honor. Smoother than silk, Cooter has deep, roasty caramel notes, rich chocolate maltiness and an American hop bitterness balanced to perfection. ABV: 6.0%
